Clear Database

If HICSOAP is configured to open a database file that is corrupted or inaccessible then it can be useful to be able to clear that setting before starting HICSOAP. Otherwise HICSOAP will start and then be unhappy as it tries to access the database file.

To do this, use the Registry Editor to clear the value for

MY Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\4N Systems\HicPro\HicDatabaseName

Warning!!!! Editing the registry can have disastrous effects. Please be careful that you don't accidentally edit/delete anything else.

After clearing, the value will be "", i.e. empty.

Then when start HICSOAP it will prompt for what to do - create a database, open an existing database, restore from a backup, etc - instead of getting confused by database file configuration.
